Canadian Pacific bridge .Named the Lethbridge Viaduct I believe. However many also call it the High Level bridge . Very impressive to see. The area is prone to excessively high winds also . Not sure is C.P restricts crossings during periods of very high winds . Would be interested in knowing?

This bridge is west of Lethbridge, Alberta. I was born and raised in a town 20 miles away and saw this bridge all the time when coming to Lethbridge at least once a week. Not really sure how old it is. I've been told it is close to a century when growing up.

It's an impressive bridge. How many passenger trains have derailed from it? Has an oil train derailed here causing massive loss of wildlife downstream? Per Wikipedia it's the largest structure of its kind in the world, however there's no information there regarding it having cause the death of any construction workers, (likely as at the time the average number of deaths per million dollars of construction at the time of the golden gate bridge was 1, and per wikipedia, suspect source, I know, this bridge cost a bit over $1.3 million to build, so one would expect that at least one person died.) As I say, it's a spectacular bridge. I wonder how it's death toll compares to it's base jumper count these days. And yes I know that base jumping here would involve trespassing on what I presume is CN property, that doesn't seem to have slowed too many from jumping from buildings.

rusty0101 How old is the Bridge? Ppl don't die at a rate of million dollars anymore. Safety is key. The golden gate was in the 30s. And there was still netting on golden gate that saved countless during construction. Everyone is tethered now.

I don't think there have been any major accidents. But people have jumped off of it and killed themselves.

People jumping from a structure does not make said structure deadly.

rusty0101 Suicides. Very safe. Its taking 4x the load it was designed for amd is calculated to be able to take 2x more before requiring overhaul and upgrade..no derails...higest point 314ft to ground...lateral sway is 2ft left to right...is slightly longer than a mile at 5,327ft...has a total of over 12,000 tons of metal with a .4% grade...was built due to previous line having excessively steep grades that made for over 5 miles of extremely costly and deadly terrain...this made the section of the sub safer and more efficient by ridiculous amounts...so much so that it was worth building at a cost of approximately 1.4 million dollars (back in 1906 or 07 when building began...today's cost would be in the high hundreds of millions comparatively)....four lives were lost during the building of the bridge...which was quite low for the standards of the day....she spans and stands as the largest structure of her type and design in the world...she is not on CN turf...she is a beloved jewel of the Canadian Pacific Railway...and I love her with all my heart...I know this information because I have hauled trains over her many times as a locomotive conductor...shes a sturdy bridge and Id sooner rest my life in her steel hands and riveted soul..with more comfort and confidence...then I ever would in the arms of a woman. Good day...hope this info settles your mind.

rusty0101 lastly...someone attempted a basejump...they were attested and charged...barriers have been erected to prevent suicide attempts...as of last count it has reduced suicides by 50% from the view I had...people down below looked smaller than ants
